They're Perfect!!!! They work well in college. They don't scratch, even in some of the worse states. The price was a little high, but they were work it. The Bowls are more like soup bowls than an actual bowl. they are thicker, the mugs are bigger, much heavier,and nicer.They work perfect for everyday and for guests also. The color of them is what I had expected. They go well with about anything. anyways, I love them, and I'd buy them again!

This lovely Dinnerware Set in Chemire is elegant and sophisticated! This 16-pc. set includes 4 each of the following pieces: 10.75-in. Dinner Plate, 8.5-in. Lunch Plate, 15-oz. Rimmed Soup/Salad Bowl, and 15-oz. Mug.CORELLE dinnerware is the original break and chip resistant glass dinnerware. Introduced in 1970, CORELLE is recognized worldwide for its legendary strength and durability. The first of its kind when developed, CORELLE glass dinnerware's underlying technology was an achievement of Corning Glass Works R&D scientists. Corelle glass dinnerware is made through a hub lamination process that thermally bonds three layers of glass: core glass in the middle, with top and bottom layers of very clear skin or glaze glass. The process creates a lightweight, durable, multi-layered product. In addition, the unique enamels used during the decorating process actually become part of the glass, so the patterns last as long as the plate.Corelle's Ultra line, seventy percent thicker than the company's other lines of tableware, is so durable that Corelle backs the dinnerware with a five-year warranty against breaks and chips. The increased thickness adds heft, giving a substantive feel of quality, yet Ultra still features the compact stacking for which Corelle is famous. Ultra is amazingly tough, considering the product is made of laminated glass, and, because the enamel pigments are fired onto the dinnerware, colors and designs won't fade or scratch off over time.
Employing a mix-and-match sensibility, the Chemire pattern features bright white backgrounds with variegated brown borders on the dinner plate and rimmed bowl, and a single brown square on the mug and salad plate. Wisps of green grass on all but the bowl add an earthy feel and contemporary flair. Excellent for everyday use, this starter set includes four of each of the following: 10-3/4-inch dinner plate, 8-1/2-inch salad plate, 15-ounce soup or cereal bowl, and 15-ounce mug. For the ultra in convenience, Ultra Chemire is safe in a microwave and dishwasher, and may be used to reheat food in a conventional oven up to 350 degrees F. --Ann Bieri
