The Corelle Livingware dinnerware is exactly what I was looking for. Very plain (all white, no design), not clunky, consisting of dinner plates, dessert plates, cups (but no saucers), soup-cereal bowls, and two serving pieces. All for $89, free shipping. About half what I expected to pay.
